Silversun Pickups interview

You opened for Metallica at SWSX! Do you see this as a step towards a “huge carrear” or as a step to where the wind will take you?
We’re going where the wind takes us, but we’re not opposed to anything. We decided at the beginning to go as far as could go, and not to hold back or put ourselves in any type of category.

How did you feel to see your names in the Billboard chart, between Lady Gaga and Jadakiss?
We definitely didn’t expect it or were prepared for it. But we’re happy and very fortunate that our music is being heard.

Lady Gaga: Fake of Super- Talented?
Super talented fake.

You seem to be gaining a big momentum day by day. Do you ever fear of becoming alienated from your core fanbase, of “selling out”, of becoming too big to handle it?
We don’t really think about it too much. It’s impossible to make everybody happy. But we tried our best with swoon, and we hope that people that liked carnavas, likes swoon. And maybe we can get new people to get into it. and if some people think we sold out cause we want to sell more records, something we created and worked so hard on, that’s cool too. There are enough people out there I think are into what we have to offer.

Proudest monent in your music carreer?
Playing on the “Late show” with David Letterman. . .or mai tai’s at the infinity pool in Maui.

List of to-do thins for Athens?
The Parthenon and The Temple Of Poseidon at Sounion sound tempting. . .we have a soft side for clash of the titans.

Top 5 all – time songs?
Steely Dan – Peg
Run DMC - Christmas Time In Hollis Queens
Fatlip and Chali 2na – Today’s Your Day
The Waitresses – Christmas Wrapping
Paul Robeson – Old Man River
