School of Seven Bells had caused a stir a couple of years ago with their debut "Alpinisms". Shoegaze was the name of the game and they played good. This time around, the sound is different: the first part is a version of synthetic pop, there is much more beat than "Alpinisms". The later part is more dreamy, the songs are slower, lounge. While "Alpinisms" sounded fresh, a new band trying to find it's sound and by chance getting to sth unique and interesting, "Disconnect From Desire" sounds too much organised.
