"All Hour Cymbals" came out of the blue and sounded fresh and to the point. What more can you expect from a new band with a striking name than to make sounds that will haunt your brain?
Second album "Odd Blood" is released February 9th on Secretly Canadian. Most of the folks I've talked to about it expected sth different from it: as in every case of a band that makes a great album you love, you expect the second album to go on that road, to even greater heights. It always pinches when the band doesn't go the way you want to, but (and mind you, this is normal) the way they want to. Yeasayer chose pop. Which in the Yeasayer way means multi layered, much-worked-on tunes with a heavy sound produced by the lots of instruments, wrapped in a clean, spacious background. I like the album and I like Yeasayer. I want to befriend them.
