I can't let go JJ

In my old blog, I spent 2009 ranting about JJ. I said it, I meant, I'm here to represent it.

Here goes again: JJ is THE BEST THING IN MUSIC for 2009.
Hands down.
Nothing is even remotely close.
I know, everybody talks about "Merriweather Post Pavilion", but Animal Collective have been here for a while now, right? We knew they were the bomb, and then we stood once again in owe with "Merriweather".

But JJ, that's another story. They came out of nowhere. And they presented us with a sound that is fresh, dreamy, unique, measured (the whole album "JJ no2" was 25 minutes), combined with lyrics from an elluding reality. JJ sound like a fairytale. And you can't say that for anybody else in 2009, right? Yeap, gotcha.

The closest I can describe it as is, it's like "Suicide Is Painless": a song that approaches the morbid issue with a sound out of this world. Like a fairytale.

So, JJ have a new album called "JJ no.3", which will be out this March on Sincerely Yours (home of The Tough Alliance and Memory Tapes, among others) and Secretly Canadian. A couple of days ago, Sincerely Yours gave the world two songs from "JJ no.3", "Let Go" and "My Way". Trust me, before you do anything else, go download them here. NOW.
