Last year Mrs Badu released a hell of record with "New Amerykah Part One". I spinned this like millions of time, with great affection for the awesome track that is "The Healer". What a fucking huge tune is this, don't get me started. Since good things don't come in singles, but only in couples, here you go: New Amerykah Part Two (Return Of The Ankh) is here, storming through your stereo.

Part One was all about the world and the politics and the "wake up people". Part Two is all about the love, the romance, the tender touch of music. Smooth as r'n'b can get, wisely and freshly produced by heavyweights like Dilla, Questlove, Madlib, 9th Wonder, Sa-Ra, Georgeia Anne Muldrow, the album circles around sampling (as always): so this time around, you get Wings, Wood Brass & Steel, David Sancious, Sylvia Striplin, Fabulous Souls, The P-Funk All Stars and so forth. As always, Erykah's voice is imposing on all things with just being there.

If you think r'n'b is boring, this here is not. Great album, singer ladies take notes, producers prepare your recording devices. Money well spent.

U-N-I have been climbing the stairs to hiphop somebodies with this great album for a year now. Since it's release, they have signed with important agency ICM, who are booking them for forever. So, the time is now for a deluxe edition of "A Love Supreme 2.0", which comes in the form of 5 new songs, plus Bun B featuring on "Land of Kings", plus a 89-minute DVD documentary of the success story of them boys.

"A Love Supreme" is producer hiphop 2009, as it is rich in ideas, you can easily see that the boys have worked in the studio, the lyrics are fresh and the attitude matches the style. Plus, it screams LA. This is the way to the future for a maistream struck genre like hiphop. I think their next album will be one for the ages, as they are bound to bounce to sky.
