Hercules & Love Affair - Blue Songs

Hercules & Love Affair - Blue Songs by moshi moshi music

The new Hercules & Love Affair couldn't not be an event, after their debut's flair. "Blue Songs" is not disco, it's house music, deep from the 90s vaults. Simple lines, solid songs and an amazing feeling after all. Kele from Bloc Party makes an impressive guest in "Step Up". The album is out on Moshi Moshi this January 31st.

Hell yeah, this deserves a thumbs up!

For those of you that need to know, Eric Duncan is the one half of the famous Rub N' Tug (with Thomas Bullock / A.R.E. Weapons). He is also a member of such stylish labels as DFA (as Still Going), Modular, Warp, Eskimo

For those of you who just wanna party, here goes: Eric is an L.A. kid of the 70s, 80s, 90s. He met Thomas Bullock and DJ Harvey in 1997 in L.A., went to NYC (where Eric had been living for a while) and the rest is history.

so, again, daaaaaaamn, boy

Miami Horror - Illumination

2 or more years after we first heard of the catchy name Miami Horror, this Aussie called Benjamin Plant has finally his debut ready and it is brilliant. "Illumination" is fresh 80s sound, and yes, you know this is a good thing, in a time when everything sounds so 80s but so old. This is dance music, this is radio music, this is driving music, this is good disco house, this is intelligent electronica, this is mainstream, this is fun, this is fresh, this is great music. You know it's out there, so go ahead and enjoy your money. Seriously hearting this album.

(btw, 2010 is a good year for new music, all these good albums piling up)

"Illumination" is out on EMI.

Roisin Murphy samples Pet Shop Boys

Roisin Murphy is a Goddess! Having worked with her for a few days, I can say that she is totally crazy, but the woman rules the world! Can't wait to have her back for shows in Greece, last time was the bomb.

Anyways, she has a new, absolutely banging track, out January 18th, called "Momma's Place", written as a letter to her (then) unborn child. Producer Seji has combined 80s and 90s dance elements, from house music to even a sample of Pet Shop Boys's "Domino Dancing"! Trying to put a complete list of the sample I am, just wait a minute.

In other news, Roisin, while being pregnant, also worked with the Crookers on their new album "Tons of Friends". The Italians and the diva have two tracks on that album, "Hold Up Your Hands" and "Royal T".
