The Smell of Football is the story of what it means to have a true passion. John Westwood supports Portsmouth Football Club and follows them home and away. We follow John on a typical match day as he changes his persona from a quiet bookseller into loud, confident super fan. At a time where football is perceived to be all about money, success and glamour, John embraces Portsmouth's financial troubles as an opportunity to show what football is really about. That football is about the nostalgia. About history. About being part of community. It's when backs are against the wall you know where you stand.
