3 years in the making, the Go! Team's third album, called "Rolling Blackouts" is finally ready for release, this January on Memphis Industries. As always, the band aims for as much experimentation of the indie-sound as possible: this time around, it comes in the form of an indie wall-of-sound LP: lots of melodies blending, songs split in two directions, operatic vocals, all in a surrounding of a very dense sound. Production for this album must have been a story on it's own, as it sounds like there's too many sounds/instruments/ideas to name in there. Nice effort for an intriguing band, in it's ever-going road towards pop.
Single 'Buy Nothing Day', featuring Bethany Cosentino (of Best Coast) was released this December 14th as a US-only 7" single. The b-side is a cover version of Betty and Karen's 'I'm Not Satisfied', with vocals by Soko.
