Carte Blanche: DJ Mehdi interview

Tomorrow, Carthe Blanche (Mehdi and Riton) will give you the time of your life @ Bios. Couldn't miss the opportunity, so here's a small interview with Mehdi.

Who do you think will become a billionaire first, you or Riton?
I am a billionaire already (and I'm black. A black billionaire)

What's in line after the Black Billionaires EP? A new EP or solo work?
A compilation for Ed Banger called LET THE CHILDREN TECHNO.

Is there some sort of particular equipment that you use for the Carte Blanche dj sets?
Pioneer CDJ's, Pioneer Mixers, TR 909, and Kiehls Cosmetic products.

What do you think is the element that made house (Chicago-house, etc) music so successful and relevant till today?
The dance.

Is house music the best kind of dance music? I mean, it's the only kind of music that people really dance to, right?
Reggae is the best dance music, in my opinion. Then classical ballet.

Do you play any tracks to deliberately "annoy" Riton?
Mory Kante 'Yeke Yeke Yeke' and Daddy Yankee 'La Gasolina'

What is the most difficult track that Riton has played, for you to follow up?
Carte Blanche's GARE DU NORD

After each Carte Blance gig, how do you feel when you play a solo gig?
I feel lonely, obviously.

You've been in Athens before. Is there sth particular that you like about the city?
The hummus.

How do you see the party people of Athens? A few foreign djs mention that we don't dance.
You don't dance, you ROCK.
