What's a Dubliner doing in NYC? Well, putting out the dance album everyone's gonna be dancing for months. You had been warned by yours trully, so now you don't have any excuse any more. Shit Robot's most awaited LP "From The Cradle To The Rave" is out this September 21st. Since it is, of course, on DFA, you should have guessed that it features household names like James Murphy, Juan Maclean, Nancy Wang, Alexis Taylor (Hot Chip) and Ian Svenonious (the one and only).
The album is plain good. It's all about the machines: it is obvious this guy is in love with his equipement, that he fondles them every night and that together they have produced an album that is for keeps. Also, it is obvious this guy has been djing for a lifetime, as the songs seem to have a structure that is all for the club dancefloor. Super stylish, geometrical, haunting, hypnotic: this album works, anyway you wanna judge it. Though, it would be better if you just danced to it.
