"Le Noise" is Neil Young with a guitar and Daniel Lanois producing.
The first songs "Walk With Me", "Sign Og Love" is Young expressing feelings of love, in very simple songs, that seem like he made them on the spot, in the studio. The lyrics are almost a single line, repeated again and again. Then, " Love and War", a song about praying for these two ideas, is the bridge to the later half of the album, where songs are more "prepared". "Hitchhiker" is one of the best songs about drugs and road experiences, and "Peaceful Valley Blvd" and "Rumblin" are about the need for people to awake and understand.
True songs of a songsmith, as always, but with their flaws apparent, too. Lanois is not obvious, except some tricks in "P.V.B." I see some songs growing in me, but not the album.
