David Andrew Sitek, guitarist, multi-instrumentalist and producer for TV On The Radio has gone electronica/dance/happy. "Tiger" is one of those albums in which an artist wants to fit his creativity outside his band: so, he brings in the buddies (Kyp Malone, Tunde Adebimpe) to help and new artists for each song, so that he can purvey a different sound each time. Start counting: David Byrne, Theophilus London, Karen O, Holly Miranda, Little Dragon, Aku, plus more interesting artists.
10 songs, 10 ideas: the vibe of the album is uplifting, the sound is very clear and spacious, the aim is obvious. It works ok, i.e.take "Apartment Wrestling" with David Byrne, it's totally Talking Heads era. I'd prefer a touch of unexpected, as it all sound too studio work, but that's just me.
