The Swiss interview

The Swiss will perform live in Thessaloniki (10th) and Athens (11th) next week, so they answered the following.

Everybody is playing disco-something nowadays. Why are you disco-something?
We always have been. Everything goes in cycles, I guess we're lucky that it's popular right now. We'd be doing it even if it wasn't.

What are the qualities in disco music that you like? Why do you feel that disco is so relevant there last years?
It's fun. A lot of what's called disco isn't though these days. The word gets applied to any dance music that isn't the bloody beetroots these days.

What the hell is going on down in Aussieland: you have all these bands making a name of themselves these last 2-3 years. Why do think that is?
Healthy competition & a scene built around people supporting eachother and working together but not being tolerant of shit music.

Name some Aussie bands I should check out.
Sidwho?, Gypsy & The Cat, Knightlife, Bag Raiders, KIM, Bridezilla, Jonathan Boulet, Dcup, Tame Impala, Shaolin Afronauts.

Modular is doing a great job in making their bands known all aroung the globe. I always think that success for indie labels comes from the way they work, and how they love their artists. How do you work with them? Can you give me some idea of the vibe you get from working with Modular?
They're great, they don't put pressure on us to do anything that wouldn't come naturally. They just let us do what we do.

5 top tunes of 2010 so far
Tensnake - Coma Cat
Prins Thomas - Atter en Trall
Yolanda Be Cool & Dcup - We No Speak Americano
Tiger & Woods - something something
Juan MacLean - feel so good

What are your chances in the World Cup 2010?
Australia's? No idea.

How do you feel about coming to play in Greece?
Really excited, a little nervous, the Australian government issued a warning about riots or something but we're thinking you guys might need a little dancing in your lives right now.

What should we expect from your live shows?
Sweaty, fun, loads of dancing. Not much singing but plenty of kick drum and girls going crazy.
