The Apples in Stereo - Travellers in Space and Time

There is a lyric in "Hey Elevator" that goes: "when i look around in the world today" and another in "Strange Solar System" that goes "when our world is so confusing". So, this album is an escape from reality into future via pop. The lyrics are about a future, but the music is of the past, mainly the 70s-80s. When you will talk about old school sound, you will mention this album. The songs could have been written back then, the lyrics maybe. The claps are there, the vintage instruments not so much. The perfect production is what gives it away. Was an album like this necessary? Yes, in the way that every album is necessary (which it isn't). They seem to have fun, so everything goes.

So, the title says it all: party like it's 1982 or any year before 1990. And all this, by the man (Jon Hill) who co-wrote "She-Wolf", Shakira's amazing, futuristic single and worldwide hit. Mind the gap, then. This is post-post-modern-pop.

The album will be out April 20th on Yep Rock.
